Farewell Toronto & Hello Vancouver

Six and a half years and we're finally back. It has been an amazing journey for steve and I and what we're going to miss the most is all our great friends we’ve made over the years. Thank goodness it was a long drawn out farewell….gave steve and I some good amount of time to spend with everyone saying our farewells. It’s only been 2 weeks since we’ve left and we miss you guys already!!!

Steve finally completed his oral exam for acupuncture the day we flew home. Thank goodness he got antibiotics for his laryngitis…he somehow got some words out of his mouth that morning to feel confident about the exam.

Our 10 days back has been great! Surprisingly, it’s been busy, but not crazy. We’ve settled into our new temporary pad in Richmond (steve’s parent’s empty apartment)…..our CRV landed safely, all our other stuff arrived without getting lost…and we’ve spent some great time friends and family before leaving on our adventure.

Sorry for all those individuals I’ve been out of touch with. Steve and I have been sooooo disconnected since we’ve been back to Vancouver. We haven’t set up cable, phone or internet yet. Sorry to all those Vancouver people who have to still dial long distance to get a hold of me!!! The only time we have had access is when we head back to my parent’s pad or crash at KCx3. It’s been so different than when I was crashing at Mica’s in Toronto and was on the internet almost all day!!!

Everyone in Vancouver has been so great. Our friends and family have been throwing us non stop welcome home parties….bon voyage parties….and a very surprising early b-day party. Yes…32 in about 3 weeks. We’ve had either sushi or dim sum EVERYDAY!!! Toronto PEEPS….I know some great places to take you when you come!!! Oh ya….we also have room to jam up to 8 – 10 people at one time in our pad… 8 if you don’t want to sleep in the kitchen. : )

It’s great to be back. Yes, I say this when it is not pissing rain out. And even if it is….there’s the beautiful mountains that always remind me of why Vancouver is the place to be. I’m home and I’m thrilled to begin the new chapter in my life.

Keep checking this blog site to see if steve and I can continue documenting our trip…actually...steve's committed to documenting the trip for us.

Let the adventures begin!
